Featherston Town Centre recently went through an upgrade.
Earthworks Landscape Architecture principal Rebecca Wilson was engaged to provide a some design options for public consultation, what they have settled on we think is a winner.
When asked about the project Rebecca said:-
What were you looking to achieve with the design?
The aim was to create a central town square for Featherston for community events and social gatherings, including a regular “Farmers’ Market”. As the town develops new shops, cafes and bars etc will surround this area and the square will become the centre of the town. Stage 2 of the development includes an artists quarter and a small pavillion on the central stage area.
Why did you choose to work with Horizon?
I have always preferred their paving products – they have a great selection of top-quality paving options so I rarely need to go elsewhere. Their range is very comprehensive so they are always able to provide the various paving products required in my projects. For this project I needed products which looked ageless and would continue to do so for generations. I am confident these will.
Why were you impressed with their solution?
I was very pleased with the detailed laying specification they provided for the laying of the granite sett paving. It was critical that this was done well for the longevity of this public space.
